Understanding your About Land Menus

With Many of your ZI Residents being new users to Second Life, I figured this would be an important topic to touch base on.  Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with all of your land options and get the most out of your land experience here at ZoHa Islands.   As always if you have any questions – please feel free to contact a ZI Manager anytime day or night.

Tab 1 – General (see image below each tab info)

Name – Self Explanatory ( put whatever name your want to call your land)

Parcel ID – for use by the actual Sim Owner through LL

Owner:  Ok this section – sometimes it will say an avatar name only and no group selected under – this land is solely owned by the purchaser.  If it says a name of an avatar and a group name under – it is only SET to a group.  In order to give the group owners, managers etc the necessary rights your land needs to be deeded.  (i.e. you want your partner to have the exact same rights as you on your land, or you want your club manager to have eject rights and changing music)  Now with this said….. we can go onto the next area.

Group:  This is where you set the group you want your land to go to – a land group for anyone who you WANT to have parcel rights or rezzing/music.  You can control how much access they have via the ROLES/ABILITIES sections of your group information.  To deed land to a group you are owner of – set group, check the “Allow to Deed” box, and then click the now highlighted Deed button.  The only way to “undeed” or change the group after deeding is to sell the land back to yourself for 0L, and rebuying it back to reset your ownership, please note you must be an active owner in the group to be able to do this.  If by some chance you left the group by mistake – please contact ZoHa Management to reset your land back to you – can only be sold to the original purchaser.

For Sale – Pretty Self Explanatory.  Use this to sell your land but remember while you may sublet your land – you are responsible for the tiers unless management is notified of the sale & Ownership Changes.

Claimed – Date land is acquired

Area – SQM of the selected parcel

Traffic – Your lands avatar activity

About Land Menu - 1

Tab 2 – Covenant

This is the set of rules set forth by the sim owner – Please read and familiarize yourself with them

About Land - 2

Tab 3 – Objects

On the image below – you can see I have 977 prims out of my 1875 allowed prims on my half region.

Click the circular arrow next to “object owners” – It also shows all of the prims belong to me – in some cases you will have a listing of different peoples prims – this list helps you manage the content of your parcel and lets you see what is all there, comes in great handy when you have multiple users.

About Land - 3

Tab 4 – Options – VERY IMPORTANT and helps prevent griefings!

Below is a prime example of a well set up parcel.  We will go through the areas of this menu.

Edit Terrain (all) – My personal suggestion is to keep this completely unchecked to avoid tergriefers from striking your land and causing havoc and returned items.  Use with Extreme Caution!

Fly – Enable or Disable

Build – this should always be set to group to avoid random people from rezzing prims on your land as well.  Even if you don’t have a group set and your are the sole land owner – it will enable only you to build/rez on your land.

Object Entry – pretty much same as above – it stops neighbors from having prims crossing over into your land and prevents griefings

Run Scripts – If you run a high traffic area or a high scripted area you may choose to have this set to only group.  That is your call.

Safe – Enable or Disable death – TPs you home if you ‘die” used in combat RP mostly.

No Pushing – Enable or Disable as per your preference

Show place in Search – IMPORTANT if you are a business owner – always show your business in SL search.  Residential customers no need to enable.

Avatars on other parcels can see and chat with avatars on this parcel – this enables you a degree of privacy – avatars outside of the parcel cannot hear or see your pixels when it is unchecked – allowing you to roam naked at will.  If it is checked they can see in.  It doesn’t hide prims – only people/attachments.

Snapshot – Drag and drop something of your choice

Landing point – set to force a landing point – or select anywhere if you want too.

About Land - 4

Tab 5 – Media

This is for TVs, Radios etc – please follow the instructions that came with your equipment!  We are not tech support for your TVs.

About Land - 5

Tab 6 – Music & Sound

Insert a music stream of your choice – Here are some popular ones:

Now – when on a shared sim – please set your land as the image below – this helps reduce disturbances with your neighbors and makes for a more peaceful stay.  It also keeps your voice conversations private.

KittyKat Jules:  What does your store sell or what does your business do?
Erynlight Resident: We are a women’s clothing store that sales all from casual to formal gowns.

KittyKat Jules:  How long has your business been established?
Erynlight Resident:  Black Wing Designs was originally established in mid 2011, but I took a break for most of 2012 as other projects were emerging.  Now I am back with new and fresh designs and ready to offer wonderful options for all my customers.

KittyKat Jules:  What made you want to start up your business and what drives you to keep going?
Erynlight Resident:  For me, it’s the creativity and the ability to bring to life (so to speak) a mere thought or idea.

KittyKat Jules:  Any exciting happenings or new items you’d like to show off for us?
Erynlight Resident:  We are a part of the 55L Thursdays and WOMENStuff group.  I have also just joined the It’s On Sale Group as well.  This way I can share with as many as I can on the great items we have to offer.  Here are a couple of examples of the latest releases:

LanaAd Lola Black

KittyKat Jules:  What would your advice be to the new business owner in Second Life?
Erynlight Resident:  It really takes dedication, and the understanding that as like any real life business, you have to build up over time.

KittyKat Jules:  How did you originally get started in Second Life?
Erynlight Resident:  I was originally invited by a couple of real life friends that are still very dear and close to my heart.

KittyKat Jules:  Any hobbies besides running your business?  What do you like to do in SL?
Erynlight Resident:  I am also a DJ, partial owner of Club~Envy, Landscaper, and builder.

Warm Regards

ZoHa Islands Showcase: Shadow Moon Clothing

Greetings ZoHa Islands Residents!

This week I bring you a great store specializing in women’s and men’s attire… she’s got some fabulous outfits – mesh with color change HUDs ..you name it.  Definitely worth a look and great for those Christmas gifts!

Store Name: ~ Shadow Moon ~

Store Contacts and Title: Candy Nizna (owner)

SLurl: PRESCOTT

BLOG
FLICKR

KittyKat Jules: What does your store sell?
Candy Nizna: I sell both women’s and men’s clothing for the everyday person. I have a dark humor side to me so that is what comes out mostly. I also make props and a few furniture pieces. I do monthly hunts so I tend to make random hunt themed pieces or clothing.

KittyKat Jules: How long has your business been established?
Candy Nizna: I actually opened a store 3 months into being in SL. We role-played as Native Americans in the 1900’s – so I made native wear as well as a couple of female settler dresses for my alt. – The store was named after my role-play avatar name “Shadow Moon”. After we moved from there to doing what we do best; “being ourselves”, I started making clothes that my hubby and I wanted to wear. Nothing specific, just what floated my boat that day.

KittyKat Jules: What made you want to start up your business and what drives you to keep going?
Candy Nizna: As I mentioned before, we started out as role-players, and when we were looking for low-prim items that would keep prim and lag down for role-playing we either couldn’t afford it as we were new to SL or couldn’t find what we needed low prim, so we had to make it ourselves.

KittyKat Jules: Any exciting happenings or new items you’d like to show off for us?
Candy Nizna: I just figured out the Mesh Scripts to allow for multiple color/texture changes without making your inventory blow up… so I have a female dress and a male outfit that are spectacular!

KittyKat Jules: What would your advice be to the new business owner in Second Life?
Candy Nizna: Do what you want, you will never please everyone. It’s a rough go in SL to make Lindens…so if you’re in it to make a fortune, you will be highly disappointed.

KittyKat Jules: How did you originally get started in Second Life?
Candy Nizna: I think I answered this in some of the other questions. 🙂

KittyKat Jules: Any hobbies besides running your business? What do you like to do in SL?
Candy Nizna: I blog for my own store and I have my own Fashion Blog about other people’s items, I love shopping – might as well show off my purchases!
My friends and I (the 3 Biotcheteers) play board games, we decorate, we chat, we avatar watch…..I have made some great RL friends from SL, glad that we had SL to meet each other since we are from all over North America.

Sounds like a great place to get some of that Holiday shopping done!

Warm Regards,

Kittykat Jules

ZoHa Islands Showcase: Curio Obscura

Today we have a very special showcase just for you…I absolutely love the originality of her building…down to the unique product line.  I’m sure you’ve all come across the little door teleporters somewhere in your SL…well this is the mind behind the madness!  She’s a very creative soul with an incredible talent….defintely worth the look
Store  Name: Curio Obscura

Store/Business Contacts and Title: Pandora Wrigglesworth (Inventor and Proprietress)

SLurl: BUSINESS DISTRICT FOXTROT
Website:  www.curio-obscura.com
Flickr Account:  Flickr Account

KittyKat Jules: What does your store sell or what does your business do?
Pandora Wrigglesworth : Curio Obscura sells a wide variety of strange and wonderful things including unique vehicles, strange hairstyles, fun things to sit on, outlandish avatars, teleporters, gadgets, and more. Some of my best known works are the Anywhere Doors (the animated teleporter), the Oui Coupe (the smallest vehicle in SL), Clockwork Automaton Skins, the Whiteboard Typing Override, the Deluxe Bunnygirl Outfit, and the Rococo Fantastico (the largest hairstyle in all of SL).

KittyKat Jules:  How long has your business been established?
Pandora Wrigglesworth : Since January 2008
A Special note from the creator:
“Visitors to Curio Obscura should please try to tolerate the broken remains of the other three shops which I crushed to make room for my own. While passing through the rubble, please watch your step as all of the weaponry on the front of the shop is interactive so a careless visitor might get crushed by a giant hammer, squeezed by a metal claw, or ground up in the grinder. (No, really, go try them. They’re hilarious.)

KittyKat Jules:  What made you want to start up your business and what drives you to keep going?
Pandora Wrigglesworth : I honestly don’t know how to answer a question like that. It’s just what I do.

KittyKat Jules:  Any exciting happenings or new items you’d like to show off for us?
Pandora Wrigglesworth:  I recently released the Marionette Control and Strings. It’s the first set of marionette strings in SL that uses no particles and no scripts at all. The whole thing is fully mesh-based and the string bend and move with your movements very fluidly. If you come to the shop, you can try out a free demo.

I have started a new line of diary-style typing overrides. The first three are the Diary of a Princess, Diary of a Vampire, and the Journal of a Superhero. With one of these, when you type, you will open a diary and start writing a new entry. The text for the entry changes every time and may include the names of nearby avatars, yourself, and the region in which you are standing.

KittyKat Jules:  What would your advice be to the new business owner in Second Life?
Pandora Wrigglesworth : There are hundreds of other businesses in Second Life. If you want to be noticed, be uniquely yourself.

KittyKat Jules: How did you originally get started in Second Life?
Pandora Wrigglesworth : I was bored and then I saw that Second Life episode of “CSI: NY” and I thought, “Hey, I can do that.”

KittyKat Jules:  Any hobbies besides running your business?  What do you like to do in SL?
Pandora Wrigglesworth :  To be honest, I rarely do anything in SL except make new things. I’m not terribly social.

Hope you all take the time to visit this wonderful shop soon!  I’ve got a wonderful line up of stores just for you coming up…keep them coming and if you’re interested in being featured…send me a Notecard in world titled “Blog Me @ ZI”…and I will contact you to schedule an interview.  Thank you for all for making ZI the place to be!
Warm Regards,

Kittykat Jules,

ZoHa Islands Showcase: TrampStamp Clothing Co.

Hello ZoHa Islands!

So I was walking around our Business District admiring the Holiday Décor and noticed this little gem of a store.  Another great find for Christmas Shopping and a current flow of hot new releases to suit the shop a holic in you!

Store/Business Name:  TrampStamp Clothing Co.

Store/Business Contacts and Title: Mona Evans – Owner

SLurl: Business District Delta

Website: Facebook

KittyKat Jules: What does your store sell or what does your business do?</i>
Mona Evans: I make and provide clothing I have always found to fit my style. Or what my friends tell me they like. I also side step into my second hobby of photography. At this current time I mostly make womens clothing. Stuff I feel fits every mood from sexy and cute to comfy and chic at affordable prices.

KittyKat Jules: How long has your business been established?
Mona Evans: I have had many different shops since I have started in SL many moons ago. I began TrampStamp Clothing Co. about 6-7 months ago.

KittyKat Jules: What made you want to start up your business and what drives you to keep going?
Mona Evans: I have always been a clothing junky and love to shop. One day I sat there for hours looking for a certain shirt that I just couldn’t find anywhere. And that day is when I decided I would make the shirt. Little to my suprise people liked that shirt and asked if I would sell it. As for what keeps me going. That is knowing people like my clothing.

KittyKat Jules: Any exciting happenings or new items you’d like to show off for us?
Mona Evans: Atleast once a week I have 2-3 new items out in my store.

KittyKat Jules: What would your advice be to the new business owner in Second Life?
Mona Evans: Don’t give up on your dreams or passion. Because even if it’s just one person that supports you that one person to me is the whole reason I keep on.

KittyKat Jules: How did you originally get started in Second Life?
Mona Evans: I came over with a radio station I dj’d for in The Sim’s Online. That was back in ’06. With many breaks between now and then I still go back to what I love and thats making clothes.

KittyKat Jules: Any hobbies besides running your business?  What do you like to do in SL?
Mona Evans: I like to explore and hang out with friends. It’s how I get a lot of my ideas. I also love doing photo’s. Normally once I take that first shot I know exactally how to set the picture up and what to do to make it pop.

Well there ya have it – another great shop to explore.  Come on down and check out the Business District, lots of wonderful shops and attractions to explore.

Warm Regards,

Kittykat Jules
