Happy Holidays ZoHa Islands!

Yes, its that time of year again.   Time to let it snow and and be thankful we don’t have electric bills in Second Life when the decorations are all up! 

We’ve got a couple of things in store for you all.

First, Snow Land has arrived!!  Keep in mind these parcels do sell out quickly during this holiday season and they do turn back to the original textures come first week of January.  If you are a current Resident and wish to have your sim changed to snow, here’s how to go about it:
Contact the other parcel owners on your sim and get confirmation via chat logs that it is ok and approved! ( Save these in a NC for yourself)
Send the complete NC to any online ZI Manager with your sim name and your Full SL name in the title (Example: Snow – Governor ZohaIslands – Sim Name)
Wait for the snow to come !

Second, Time to pull the decorations out of inventory and dust them off….because we’ve got some decorating to do!  That’s right, time to make Business District shine. 

This year we are featured in the Linden Lab Destination Guide – even appeared on the login screen this morning.  So time to get decorating and show Second Life why this is the best place to be. ZoHa Islands Showcase: Project Puppet Photography & Poses

Greetings ZoHa Islands!

So for this installment I figured we’d bring you a little something different than we have been showcasing, this place offers some really nice stuff – poses for your pictures, custom photography and pose service too. She’s very good at what she does might I add. Whether it be a profile pic, a business advertisment, modeling portfolio…She’s got ya covered. So stop on down and take a peek!

KittyKat Jules: What does your store sell or what does your business do?
Bren Dovgal: Project Puppet Poses offers high quality static poses for photography. At this time we have only poses for women but we’re about to begin catering for men too. We have already begun adding couple and friends poses to the collection. We also offer a custom pose service.

KittyKat Jules: How long has your business been established?
Bren Dovgal: The pose store is brand new, but the Project Puppet brand was established a littler a year ago now. New Poses are being added daily though, Its very exciting ♥

KittyKat Jules: What made you want to start up your business and what drives you to keep going?
Bren Dovgal: I’ve been a sl photographer since i started 5 and a half years ago. On occasion I have had to make custom poses for my photo clients so it was an obvious progression for me to open a pose store too. What drives me to keep going…. Its fun to create and to see the results in another photographers images.. I get a kick out of that.

KittyKat Jules: Any exciting happenings or new items you’d like to show off for us?
Bren Dovgal: This is our Group Gift which will be available until the end of December

KittyKat Jules: What would your advice be to the new business owner in Second Life?
Bren Dovgal: I would say to be patient and consistent in the quality of your work. Its also most important to do it because you love it.

KittyKat Jules: How did you originally get started in Second Life?
Bren Dovgal: Wow such a long time ago! A friend Bren Dovgal: I had met from another game showed me around and helped me get started….I never looked back

KittyKat Jules: Any hobbies besides running your business? What do you like to do in SL?
Bren Dovgal: Aside from my pose store I have my photography studio. I’m a sl photographer.. I would say that is my hobby. I do that for RL and SL. I do love shopping! And really nothing beats having laughs with my best friend. That’s what SL is for.

ZoHa Islands Showcase: Club Envy

Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving Holiday
(those of you who celebrate it anyhow). 

I don’t know about you……but I’m good with not looking at another turkey til next year. 

So up in this showcase we have entertainment, shopping and a wonderfully decorated holiday lot..what more could you want.  Defintely worth a look!

Also don’t forget …the ZI Business District is a wonderful place to set up your store today, a Holiday Decorating Contest wil be in full swing for the month of December…which might I add….will be featured in the LL Destination Guide…bringing you some great foot traffic and a whole lotta fun!

KittyKat Jules: What does your store sell or what does your business do?
Erynlight Resident:We are a classic rock to new rock, metal and alternative club!  With several shops for casual shopping while visiting.

KittyKat Jules:  How long has your business been established? 
Erynlight Resident:  This is a new venture for us.  We have been in business for 3 months now.  However, our previous club had been open for well over a year.

KittyKat Jules:  What made you want to start up your business and what drives you to keep going?
Erynlight Resident:  We wanted a great club where people could kick back and have fun without having to deal with the chaos of contest jumpers and such.  We are here to enjoy and have fun.

KittyKat Jules:  Any exciting happenings or new items you’d like to show off for us?
Erynlight Resident:  We do have an event coming on Dec 8th which will be a dance pole contest sponsored by Rosca Creations.  We are expecting it to be a load of fun!

KittyKat Jules:  What would your advice be to the new business owner in Second Life?
Erynlight Resident:   First you must enjoy what you do.  Don’t try to push too fast or you will burn out over night.  Just breathe and enjoy it.

KittyKat Jules:  How did you originally get started in Second Life?
Erynlight Resident:  I was invited by two crazy friends.  Within a month they had helped me gain my first hosting job.  It has just progressed from there. 

KittyKat Jules:  Any hobbies besides running your business? 
Erynlight Resident:  What do you like to do in SL? I am also an SL photographer, artist, landscaper, and builder.

Another wonderful showcase for sure..I know these folks have put a lot of time into their establishment, its looking great might I add!

KittyKat Jules:  What does your store sell?
Kandyss Draegonne:  My focus is women’s clothing, but I’m also a very random person with a rather twisted sense of humor. So I have a tendency to make what I call randomites also.

KittyKat Jules:  How long has your business been established?
Kandyss Draegonne : My first store was called .[rhetoric]. which started in February of 2011. At the end of 2011, I shut down my inworld store. A few months ago, I started KANDYSS, a little different from my last store attempt. I started with Marketplace and a small group, and finally this month I was able to open an inworld store again.

KittyKat Jules:  What made you want to start up your business and what drives you to keep going?
Kandyss Draegonne :  I’m a shoppaholic and I like being creative. The store is my gallery or playground if you will, if it makes me a few lindens along the way that’s great. My store is my hobby and my baby.

KittyKat Jules:  Any exciting happenings or new items you’d like to show off for us?
Kandyss Draegonne :  Well, I’m always coming up with something new. I’m sarcastic and twisted. I know that comes across in some of my designs. I love my ShorTees line, just system layer short tees for the ladies, showing some of that undercleavage with just a hint at something about the wearer printed on the tee. My November randomite really makes me laugh. And that’s what its all about for me.

KittyKat Jules:  What would your advice be to the new business owner in Second Life?
Kandyss Draegonne :  Do it because you love it. If you’re doing anything in SL to get rich, your talents would probably serve you better in the real world.

KittyKat Jules:  How did you originally get started in Second Life?
Kandyss Draegonne :  Gawd, I’ve been in SL now for 6 years. A real life friend knew how much I loved The Sims and pestered me to join SL. Long story short, I signed up one night thinking I wouldn’t stay. Less than a year later I was married in RL to a man I met here and been experiencing the different facets of the game ever since.

KittyKat Jules:  Any hobbies besides running your business?  What do you like to do in SL?
Kandyss Draegonne :  I love taking pictures and blogging. For instance, my blog is not just about my store. I’m far from being one of the top designers in SL. I love sharing what I find with anyone willing to read it. I take loads of pictures, so Flickr gives me an outlet for that rather than uploading a gazillion photos and adding chaos to the iventories of my friends. I love using Facebook for my avatar, it allows me to meet people from SL that I might not have met inworld. And I just love the overall social experience. I know I can live without Second Life, but I’d rather not.
