Now fully paralyzed, he uses his eyes to control his computer and create art at a dizzying pace. Creativity runs in the family; his sister, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/kate-stilley-steiner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow noopener\">Kate Stilley Steiner<\/a>, is a documentary filmmaker and co-founder of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/citizenfilm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow noopener\">Citizen Film<\/a>. Kate and Tucker created a non-profit called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.disembodiedartists.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cohort of Disembodied Artists<\/a> as a way to help other artists who use assistive technologies to build a community to support their artwork.<\/p>\n<p>The sibling duo has teamed up with <a href=\"https:\/\/virtualability.org\/virtual-world-locations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow noopener\">Virtual Ability<\/a>, an institution of the Second Life community, to present a virtual exhibit of Tucker\u2019s work. Virtual Ability was founded by\u00a0Gentle Heron in 2007\u00a0and has grown into a huge and vibrant community. They describe their vision as \u201cto be the leading provider of services and information for people with disabilities in online virtual worlds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tucker\u2019s bio, available in full at the exhibit, describes him as \u201cborn in Santa Ana, California in 1961, and educated in an eclectic patchwork stretching across North America \u2013 Stilley is a child of the Space Age \u2013 with all the bizarre baggage that entails.\u201d As a \u2018distinguished alumni\u2019 of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, he has worked as a media artist, sound designer and film editor over the years as technology has impacted the way we create and experience art. His work has received numerous accolades, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/culturemonster\/2009\/04\/tucker-stilley-at-monte-vista-projects.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow noopener\">LA Times<\/a> describing it as \u201cbreathtaking images of the frailty and strength of the human condition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSd5z7bCjE35yfo-2L_G9O_OnoqP1JdkmQt-pp8Jk64kTbT5sQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow noopener\">Sign up<\/a> today to attend a guided tour of \u2018Palimpsessed,\u2019 Tucker\u2019s new exhibit, curated by Treasure Ballinger.
